In the past couple of years the Soul Music of the 60s, 70s and 80s has received unprecedented recognition and has led to a mushrooming of specialist radio shows dealing with the genre.
The best way to find many of these shows is to delve through the schedules of BBC Local Radio stations. Thanks to the wonders of the worldwide web these shows are mostly available to be listened to at anytime, anywhere in the world.

Mary Fox's Motown and Northern Soul goes out on BBC Radio Stoke but attracts a worldwide audience now. The first of its type it is still immensely enjoyable.
Goes out on Radio Northampton and they very kindly mention the Soul Survivors now and again! Great range of 60s, 70s, 80s Soul with the 'Northern' genre being championed by Paddy Grady - one of the real afficionados!
Will Banks' Soul Prescription is broadcast on Radio Oxford and is garnering a growing reputation. Retro Soul from across the spectrum
Going out on on BBC Radio Sheffield is another Motown and Northern Soul show from Steve White. Again very informative and always on the button!
The Red Dwarf and Coronation St actor actor presents the weekly Funk and Soul show on BBC Radio 6. Again right across the spectrum covering every sub species of Soul Music. Very informative and excellent listening.
